I had a similar Dr. visit today with my 7 year old. Our endocrinologist ordered an x-ray and a fasting blood draw to also rule in or out type 2 diabetes. My daughter has pubic and underarm hair and body odor and is overweight even though she is active and we monitor her diet. It is a simple blood test, if your Dr. won´t order it go to someone else. You could save her complication from diabetes later.
