The risk of complications of circumcision is well-known and understood.
The American Academy of Pediatrics notes that: "Reports of two large series have suggested that the complication rate is somewhere between 0.2% and 0.6%"
Such complications are, in the majority of cases, minor. In very rare cases indeed are tragic outcomes found, such as death. While terrible, these are often newsworthy BECAUSE of their rarity.
